“Character cannot be developed in peace and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.”
-Helen Keller
it has taken me a long time to determined that you cannot be full of wisdom if you have not experienced life. So, thank you, Helen Keller, for experiencing life to the fullest and being so bold to share of your wisdom.
This month I visited my best friend, Nicole, who lives in FL. We have survived many trying times in our friendship, but in the end, we prevailed and the Lord has blessed us to no end with Godly husbands and wonderful families. Every morning her Daddy calls to wish her good day. They chit-chat about what the day may have in store for them, a quick I Love You and good-bye. She says this call is what gets her day started. That is love in a pure, simple form. There are days I long to hear comforting words of reassurance from my Father…but in this life, my life, the one God has given me… He had another plan in mind for me. My life’s path has lead me to the ultimate Father… God.
I’m talking about getting my fill from Jesus.
It took me too long to find Him and I’m not gonna let Him go. Don’t get me wrong here… I have faced plenty of trying times with God holding my hand. Did I immediately remember that He was there holding my hand, NO! I would venture to say the odds are not in my favor on that tally! (He will remind me of those moments when I meet him at Heaven’s gate)
So, my realization, My Father IS calling. Calling me to serve Him. And O! Yes, this means going outside my comfort zone, giving when there was nothing left to give & keeping quiet when words wanted to flow like water.
Calling me, huh?
Okay then, I suppose it’s time to listen.
Out of difficulties grow miracles.

…behind the white picket fence. This past month my husband preached a Sunday morning sermon. Jump back! I was impressed. (although, I may be a little biased) He touched on many “issues” in churches today. Used many great examples from within our very own church and knocked our socks off associating our churches specifics to the Word. AMEN!
Abigail is growing so fast and she has now moved into repeat mode. If fact, Aaron was telling me a story from one of his online sermons and it had a not-so friendly word in it and she promptly repeated it right at the dinner table! KIDS! I’m hoping that the 2 year-old short term memory will kick in on this lil’ episode. Kerrigan, what can I say…. maybe something like- “PLEASE LET THIS KID SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT, PLEASE!” Ya, maybe something like that. God is SOOOOO having a little giggle every time I compare the two. Abigail slept through the night at 2 mo old whereas Kerrigan is about to be 6 months old and still wakes up at least twice a night! Abigail ate cereal with no problem at 4 mo old, Kerrigan has no interest in cereal and still wants a bottle every 3 hours! But you know what?… I wouldn’t have it any other way. Our children are healthy and happy. God has blessed us abundantly is so many ways, it’s hard to see sometimes. Even though busy times surround us now… this is what God’s plan is all about. A busy bee is a productive bee.
Thanks to Justin for kicking me in the pants on getting a new post up!
