Dandelions…flowers or weeds-they’re still beautiful to me. Especially when they come from hands as precious as these!
I love these pictures and originally it was just a pic post…but now I’m changing it. See, I got to thinkin’ -is it Abigail that needs to grow into my shoes? Maybe it’s me who needs to do the growing…
Prayer: God, walk with me. Show me how to walk with my daughter and teach her how you have taught me. Amen.
You know how your children go through “phases” ? Well the latest one (with Abigail) is not eating her veggies. Cooked, raw, stewed, steamed-no way… she just won’t eat them. So, recently she has learned THE DIP. Yes, she wants to DIP everything. The other day my mommy brain went into overdrive. “How can I get her to eat her veggies” ? And then it hit me! Green beans are easy to hang on to and she can dip them in…ummm….. well…what could she….. I’ve got it! Applesauce! YUP, you guessed it-she ate them! (well half of them anyway) But I was so proud of myself for thinking up such a concoction-I even tried it (BTW-YUCK) ! But she liked it and she ate vegetables! Good Job Moms everywhere for thinking up these crazy, kid-friendly combinations!
What’s your child’s latest “phase” or eating craze?
Abigail’s first owie…that required a band-aid. The whole episode was as dramatic as an 18 month old could make it. I know she must have been in “baby” pain, but I couldn’t help but squeak a lil’ smile just thinking that my motherly duty now requires band-aids. I love it! Every single minute! Isn’t she sweet ? Mommies, do you remember your babies’ first band-aid owie?
One is growing, one is learning and the other two are freaking out!
Growing
Kerrigan (or Leigh Leigh as we call her) is growing fast. She coos, she kicks, she screams, she lifts her head and eats a lot! It’s fun to watch as she grows, but sometimes we wish we could give her as much time as we gave Abigail at her age. And that is the battle, to stop trying to compare one to the other. More on that in a few.
Learning
Abigail is learning so much it’s scary. Scary because she imitates and repeats everything. I see so much of our mannerisms in her all the time. She tries to say everything in her own little way and sometimes it’s hilarious other times, just downright confusing. Right now, everything that is “hers” ends with “me”. So, her book/my book, becomes book-me. Her fork, fork-me, careful with that one ![]()
Freaking OUT!
That’s me (Aaron) and sometimes Katie. Like I said earlier about not comparing, Leigh Leigh is NOT Abigail. You know how some old people tell you that God has a sense of humor? It’s true. He gives you one that is seemingly perfect and the other one that sometimes will not stop crying. So how do we deal, well most of the time WE don’t, but my loving and gracious wife steps in to save the day. I’m getting better and I’m trying. It’s hard. If you have one child, wait a little while to have the next. 15 months is like having twins (I have twin sisters that are 16 years younger than me, I know) but you get a little bit of a break in the feeding arena with one on a bottle and the other on everything else.
So, yeah, we have our freak outs, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Being a parent has help me in my multitasking abilities. It has given me more energy (that could be the Wii Fit). And it has given me a better understanding of the love of God. Tonight, when I saw Abigail at church, said, “Hi baby I’m so happy to see you”. She proceeded to run by me and not let me pick her up. I bet we do that to God a lot! He has His arms open for us to run and give Him a hug, but we run right by Him and spit in His face on the way by. A little advice; stop, give Him a hug. Not because He needs it, but because you do!
Just some things that God is teaching me through my girls (all of them).

They are growing fast. Kerrigan is over a month old now, and Abigail is almost 16 months. We put together some pics for you to enjoy. Some are within the last month and the others are our attempt at some Christmas pics after church last Sunday. Note to the wise, don’t try that! They just looked so darn cute in their Christmas dresses! We’ve had fun jostling two around during this crazy time of year to different parties, shopping and church activities. Life as a family of four is drastically different than with two! When Kate and I each take one and go to the store or stay at home we realize how EASY it was with one.
Last night was our first experience with “big-girl”sickness. It’s funny how vegetable puke and biscuits doesn’t faze you one bit when the princess is sick. It was about every hour or less during the night and then she couldn’t heave anything up anymore. Poor girl
but she feels better now, it must have been something she ate. Well, good to catch up with you again. Don’t be afraid to drop us a line. Talk to you soon.
Here is a video we shared with our student ministry last week. Just a quick hello because KT couldn’t go on Wednesday night to see everyone and no one had seen the baby yet. We went to church yesterday for the first time. We dressed the girls the same (is that corny) and they were the stars of the show as usual. My brother and I are over two years apart and I think my mom dressed us alike, like 2 times (that I know of). So we parents can be a pain in the butt to our kids, but until they can complain about it, go ahead and be a pain! Thanks for reading.

It’s been a while, but here are a few pics of our baby Abs. We love watching her grow up and learn new stuff. She is such a card and will always put a smile on your face. As you’ll see in the pics, Katie is getting bigger, but not as big as last time. Take a look back in the archives from last July or August, she hasn’t gained near as much weight with this pregnancy. Either way she is my beautiful babe.
Baby Kerrigan is already around 7lbs 8oz and we technically have 3 weeks to go (Nov 17th). The doc says she won’t go more than 39 weeks, so my date is the 5th of Nov. Any other guesses? Enjoy the pics and you’ll have a new 4-d ultrasound from Miss Kerrigan. Love it!!
On August 30th 2008, Abigail Marie turned the big 1! We are so happy to share with our readers some great pics on that special day. This year has seemed very slow, but when you stop and think of all that has happened, it flew by. You know what I mean? We get so busy, that sometimes life escapes us. We are going to take the next week or so and go on vacation to reflect on this past year. With another youngin’ on the way, we have a lot to look forward to this coming year.
Abigail has been such a great addition to the church as well. She lights up the room when she and mommy walk in. She loves to be there with the big rooms to run around in and the loud music of the youth suite! Speaking of church, I want to remind you all that this is not the only Dininny blog. We have about 80-90 subscribers here and that is amazing! When Kate sends the e-mail update we get more like 120 hits. If you want some more in depth convo, or my crazy views on the church and the world go to adininny.com
I know a shameless plug, but you know we would love to hear from you here or @ adininny.com. Either way, leave a comment let us know what’s on your mind. God created us for relationships, who knows what could come of a simple blog conversation? See you around!
