So… … I’m building a portfolio.
I never thought that a mere camera purchase would turn into such a passion… thank you to all my subjects, especially my patient children who FOREVER have a camera lens pointed in their direction!

There are many things I could say about the last 18 months…
Let’s just stick with, “that was fun.”

If your life wasn’t an up hill battle, would you still pursue it with such great determination?
Those of you who know me would definitely say; that question is something Katie will find the answer to. And for those of you who don’t know me; you may think that I’m a negative person. Let me break it down for you:
This past Sunday, my Sunday school class talked about Acts Chapter 7 (other scripture too) but in Acts, we see a man thrown out of a city, and stoned. He cried to God, “do not charge them with this sin.” I’m thinking that this was not one of Stephen’s best days. So, did he wake up knowing what God had in store for him, I’m going to go with “no” for this answer.
Do you know what God has in store for you when you put your feet on the floor first thing in the morning? (again, a “no” is gonna fit best here)
So my question remains; if your life wasn’t an up hill battle, would you still pursue it with such great determination?
By no means do I think I have it hard in my life, I have a God that loves me, a husband that loves me too, children that depend on me and a roof over my head and food in my belly… life is good… for me.
But what about the people that don’t believe their lives are good? The people that don’t know God loves them, or that their husband (or wife) loves them, that someone, somewhere depends on them? This is where my up hill battle begins. I want to tell them that God loves them, I want to help them see that their husband/wife/children love them and depend on them.
I have been charged; charged to hear the good news, accept that Jesus is Lord and show others and tell others how to find what I have been so blessed with-a life of everlasting.
Go tell it on the mountain, that Jesus Christ is LORD!
(P.S. our service this past Sunday was so amazing and inspiring-it has set a fire in me that I pray will never burn out!)
AMEN!

I don’t remember growing up with all this “stuff” that was mine. Possessions that don’t really further us in life, make us who we are or really tell the story of our lives (although they might be called “i” this and “i” that).
I told my story this past weekend. You know, my story… my testimony. The first thing you should share in the witnessing process? Or, so I’m told that’s the first thing you share. I’m not sure I agree. While having dinner with a friend this past Friday night, she said “what’s your story” ? So I began to babble on. It was then that I realized, I knew my story-but never shared it before. So let’s put this in perspective here… I’ve been an active Christian for about 6 years, but the first year & a half I was just going through the motions. You see, I think everyone “knew” I had all the answers to starting my walk with Jesus. I didn’t. When my husband was blessed with a Youth Pastor job @ Ocean View Baptist Church, I was still going through those same motions. What happened? Why did I get, should we say, missed? My answer: IDK ! (txt gargin for I don’t know) In churches today this happens a lot. Why do you think people come and go so quickly? Maybe cuz we didn’t take the time to see where they really were in their life with Christ. What their story was. Current followers of Jesus are so wrapped up in iChurch that they see the new people, involve them and move on to the next person. Is that what He wants? So…my personal opinion here, NO! This includes me, get off your hiney (as Abigail would say) …and make something happen-test the knowledge, challenge your fellow church go-er & lets make the churches of today grow with people full of knowledge & passion about our RISEN KING !

Life is a dance & God’s love is the music!
So I find myself starting this new phase in my life… blogging. Now I’m not one to poo-poo on the new and improved ways of communication. For example, if I left the house without my cell phone to go the grocery store, you better believe I’m turning around to go get it (it’s like I can’t breathe or something). BTW, if my mother-in-law is reading this, she’s busting a gut laughing ‘cuz the grocery store is literly 4 blocks from my door step!
p.s. she lives in the middle of NOWHERE! so she can’t possibly understand! So here I sit typing up my first blog post… how do I describe it?…. It’s almost-should I say-addicting. I’m so excited to have started this and opened a new email account to boot ! AND my husband (Aaron) is so excited that I’ve entered “his” world of blogging and online expertise that he bought me a new mini laptop! It’s PINK ! Can you dig it ? ![]()
So here’s to me and my new endeavors & to those of you Mom’s out there who aspire to start something new and keep your sanity!
