If you know Levi, the title of this blog is all you need to read! :)
Levi is one of the kids in my husband’s/our church’s Youth Group.

Aaron and I have watched this kid grow into a man of God. So last night the Youth shared their testimonies with our church congregation at our Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting. Every word was important . Stories of lessons learned, prayers needed and our Youth teaching, learning and growing in Christ. Then comes Levi-let me just say-
DUDE BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN!
… my baby was preaching! I have tears in my eyes just blogging about it! And you can be sure I had a big goofy grin on my face when he was preaching to the congregation-on a WEDNESDAY night! Those people went away CHURCHED UP! UmmmmHmmmm! Go ‘head now!
He said “don’t think things are gonna come your way if you are sitting here on your butt”…”we need to get out into our community, this is a mission.” O! & by the way… God has called him into missions- near, far or otherwise, Levi is ready to go. He’s ready to lead people to the Living Water. He’s right, this IS a mission. This life, this job, this co-worker, this fellow church-go-er, this friend, THIS!

Find God and find His mission in your life!

So I got an email from my best friend, Nicole. They just closed on their first home (her and her husband Scott) and are so super excited to be homeowners-minus the first glitch they have already run into. Anywho, the email she sent had some information that I had asked for and then some encouragement that I didn’t. (thank you Lord for unseen encouragement) So here’s how she said it, “let me know if you hear from your realtor, we are praying for you guys.” Did you catch that? WE are praying for you guys. Marriage and Prayer-what a concept! Don’t get me wrong Aaron and I pray together, not as much as we should, but we do pray together. Do you pray with your spouse? Do you know what God can accomplish through BOTH of you?… if you just let Him build you up and make your team stronger?
It gives me chills just thinking about it!

Aaron and I want to encourage you to spend time discussing your day (with your spouse) and also spend time in prayer. The strength you will experience will overwhelm you, I promise!

Team Jesus is looking for more players. Do you and your spouse have what it takes to help lead people to everlasting life?
If you think the answer is no, pray about it-TOGETHER!

Thank you Nicole for inspiring these words.
Thank you Lord for speaking through my best friend, now and always. Amen.

So, Aaron and I have this friend… greatest guy you’ll ever meet! At random times in conversations or when a story is being told, he’ll say “well, I know a guy.” I’m sure he’s said it for the longest time, but one day we caught on at how frequent this catch phrase was used. It’s just a little something that makes Aaron and I smile when we hear it.

Life is a dance & God’s love is the music!

This month I visited my best friend, Nicole, who lives in FL. We have survived many trying times in our friendship, but in the end, we prevailed and the Lord has blessed us to no end with Godly husbands and wonderful families. Every morning her Daddy calls to wish her good day. They chit-chat about what the day may have in store for them, a quick I Love You and good-bye. She says this call is what gets her day started. That is love in a pure, simple form. There are days I long to hear comforting words of reassurance from my Father…but in this life, my life, the one God has given me… He had another plan in mind for me. My life’s path has lead me to the ultimate Father… God.
I’m talking about getting my fill from Jesus.
It took me too long to find Him and I’m not gonna let Him go. Don’t get me wrong here… I have faced plenty of trying times with God holding my hand. Did I immediately remember that He was there holding my hand, NO! I would venture to say the odds are not in my favor on that tally! (He will remind me of those moments when I meet him at Heaven’s gate)
So, my realization, My Father IS calling. Calling me to serve Him. And O! Yes, this means going outside my comfort zone, giving when there was nothing left to give & keeping quiet when words wanted to flow like water.
Calling me, huh?
Okay then, I suppose it’s time to listen.

shout1…it out! I’m talking about getting stains out. You know, classic, kid wears shirt, kid stains shirt. I never thought I’d be one of those moms that said oh well… we’ll just use stain remover on it later and if it comes out great!, if not o! well :) But I gotta tell ya… this stuff called SHOUT …it’s a mother’s best friend. One squirt of this miracle solution and it’s all gone. Carrots, pizza sauce, mac n chz, ranch-just to name a few-gone! Just vanishes when it comes out of the washer.
But I gotta share a secret with you… I could never get stains out until I became a mom! It was like the stain removing power had not yet been bestowed upon me or something :) That must be in the same category as gravy making… Jennifer-you know what I mean… as soon as we became moms we could whisk up some GRAVY !

So here’s to our children… KEEP ON GETTIN’ DIRTY! …So we can keep feeling like we accomplished an impossibility when we see you wear that shirt over and over and it still looks brand SPANKIN’ new !

Dear Churchy Wives:
You are not alone.
Male staff members of churches everywhere, take head! J/K ! …but it sounded like I was about to get on my soapbox, right?

hehehe :)

A few weeks ago Aaron and I loaded up our family of 4 and headed to a Youth Pastor friend of Aaron’s. They have 3 beautiful, active girls. So with 5 little girls in one house, you know the noise level was about to reach maximum capacity. With lots of noise and giggles around the table, we had a fabulous dinner. Aaron and Mike chatting on one end of the table and Christine and myself chatting on the other (while we tended to the lil’ ones in between). Mine and Christine’s conversation revolved around children, church events and being a “churchy wife.” Which we both love dearly, may I be so presumptious. It took me a week or so to finally realize that that night hanging out and having dinner made me feel so connected to God’s work and will in my life. Being a “churchy wife” is what He has had in store for me from the beginning. I’ve been to plenty of random get-2-gethers, work Christmas parties, etc. Lets just say meaningless banter was the topic at these non-church events. I always left each of them feeling a sense of wasted time. But was it wasted time? Did I share how God was working in my life?
That night sparked something in my soul. God is working. Working in my life, working in my husband’s life and working in the lives of Christians everywhere. In an economic struggle, in a world where we just don’t know which way is up-God will show us the light.

So I end with this…
Indulge in the wonderful things He hath provided. In my case, church wife companionship.

Thanks Christine!
XO-Katie

So I find myself starting this new phase in my life… blogging. Now I’m not one to poo-poo on the new and improved ways of communication. For example, if I left the house without my cell phone to go the grocery store, you better believe I’m turning around to go get it (it’s like I can’t breathe or something). BTW, if my mother-in-law is reading this, she’s busting a gut laughing ‘cuz the grocery store is literly 4 blocks from my door step! :) p.s. she lives in the middle of NOWHERE! so she can’t possibly understand! So here I sit typing up my first blog post… how do I describe it?…. It’s almost-should I say-addicting. I’m so excited to have started this and opened a new email account to boot ! AND my husband (Aaron) is so excited that I’ve entered “his” world of blogging and online expertise that he bought me a new mini laptop! It’s PINK ! Can you dig it ? :)
So here’s to me and my new endeavors & to those of you Mom’s out there who aspire to start something new and keep your sanity!

Here is a random video we’d like to share with you. I guess this is what we have to look forward to? Can’t wait for life with the four of us!

Do you watch any of these shows?
-Grey’s Anatomy
-American Idol (3 nights a week)
-Desparate Housewives
-Boston Legal
-C.S.I. Miami
-The O.C. (farewell)
-Lost
These are some of our favorites. Note, none of the shows are actually on cable. We could get them free to air. However, if I want to see UNC or Mike and Mike in the morning or anything ESPN for that matter, I’ve got to have cable. Well, after watching “Grey’s” last night as predicted she lives, YAY! Of course, it’s GREY’S Anatomy. What an awesome show. I wonder how many people in America, including those antenna people, watch that show? It’s got to be a record. I think The right people for the most part were voted off on Idol. They wouldn’t have been in the final 12 anyway. I like Lakisha Jones. That girl can sang!! She doesn’t have “the look” but if people vote on sheer talent she’ll do well. And a fond farewell to the O.C. It got very old quickly after Marissa was killed off. Just a short rundown on a couple favorites. The list above are my (Aaron’s) favorites in order. I look at this list and wonder, why do I watch this stuff. I’m sure I could do better things with my time, like homework, reading, playing guitar and a host of other things. These soap opera dramas are addicting, maybe I should go have that checked. Until then, Jesus loves you, and I’m trying!
